چکیده

This study was designed to investigate the short term effects of stavudine, lamivudine and nevirapine on some liver enzymes HIV-1 positive subjects in Benin City, between three six months usage. Test group 1 (n=78) test 2 (n= 71) comprised HIV- seropositive individuals HAART for one months; five respectively.55 newly diagnosed naïve as control 60 apparently healthy seronegative 2. The blood samples obtained were analyzed activities aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine (ALT) alkaline phosphatase (ALP) using standard enzymatic methods. Results showed that ALP activity (24.54 ± 1.21U/L) not significantly different from (23.15 1.26U/L), both however higher than (17.08±0.88U/L) (18.16±1.40 U/L). AST (40.32±4.7 U/L) (33.32 ±2.11 U/L), but these values highly groups (17.69 0.83 U/L 20.58±1.39 respectively.Similar pattern statistical differencewas observed ALT 1; .This reveals hepatocellular damage associated with usage could set Liver should be monitored course possibly month commencement treatment plans include reduction elevation by being hepato-protective
